Workshop: Advancing Curricular Transformation Through Coaching and Competency-Based Assessment Strategies
December 3, 2025

This interactive, full-day workshop is designed for faculty and practice partners engaged in transforming nursing education to align with the 黑料吃瓜王 Essentials. As the national framework guiding professional nursing education, the Essentials call for a transition to competency-based education (CBE) to ensure graduates are prepared to meet the evolving needs of patients, communities, and health systems.

In this workshop, participants will:

  • Review the tenets of CBE structures
  • Develop plans for a system of formative and summative assessment that is focused on logical learning progressions
  • Create meaningful experiential learning opportunities
  • Use artificial intelligence (AI) to design and refine assessment rubrics

Emphasis will be placed on student-centered learning and the role of faculty as coaches who guide and support their growth. Attendees will leave equipped with practical tools and a shared vision for advancing the competency-based assessment practices outlined in the 黑料吃瓜王 Essentials.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be ready to:

  1. Design assessment strategies grounded in the 黑料吃瓜王 Essentials that integrate formative and summative assessment methods aligned with best practice principles of CBE.
  2. Develop experiential learning opportunities grounded in the neuroscience of learning.
  3. Create AI-informed rubrics to assess competency across academic and clinical settings.
  4. Demonstrate coaching strategies that support student-centered learning and progression within a CBE framework.
  5. Implement scalable approaches to competency-based assessment in large classroom environments to ensure individualized learner progression and meaningful feedback.
  6. Review approaches to addressing domains and competencies that need strengthening within the curriculum.

*Each additional registration from the same institution will receive a $30 discount.
**Student discount applies to full-time graduate students carrying nine or more credit hours this semester. Students must submit registration request with verification of full-time student status to conferences@aacnnursing.org.

  • You may substitute your registration to another individual within your organization.
  • If a substitution is not possible, you can cancel your attendance up until November 20, 2025 to obtain a refund minus a $90 non-refundable administrative fee.
  • No refunds will be given after November 20, 2025 nor will refunds be given for no-shows.
  • Your cancellation request must be submitted in writing to conferences@aacnnursing.org and confirmed by 黑料吃瓜王.

Please note: 黑料吃瓜王 will issue refunds within a 2-week time period of receipt of written cancellation notice.

Event Cancellation by 黑料吃瓜王

黑料吃瓜王 reserves the right to modify, postpone/reschedule or cancel this conference and any related group activity for any circumstance beyond 黑料吃瓜王's control, including but not limited to emergency, acts of God, government regulations, disaster, strike, and non-fulfilment of minimum group requirements. If 黑料吃瓜王 cancels an event, every attempt will be made to reschedule or provide a modified virtual offering, and registration fees will be applied to the rescheduled/virtual event. If a cancelled event cannot be rescheduled, 黑料吃瓜王 will issue a full refund of the registration fee(s). Any travel, lodging, or incidental expenses incurred related to a cancelled/postponed event cannot be refunded under any circumstances as 黑料吃瓜王 resumes no responsibility for such expenses.
